It seems as if we have many new members here due to the increasing popularity of the E60 and the fact that many 2004 cars are coming off of 3-year leases, etc. and entering the used market.

I was browsing my hard drive today and was reminded of a document that's posted on the "information" pages here that will teach many of the newbies (as well as some of the veterans) all about the car. It is a "product information" document that was used by dealers to learn about the differences between the E39 and the E60 as well as highlight all of the new technology in the car. Since some members here may not be aware of (or simply forgot about) the "www.e60.net" site (they only go to "forums.e60.net"), I thought it was a good idea to point some people in that direction.

If you've never read the document, it's really worth your time. As a matter of fact, I just browsed through it myself and enjoyed being reminded of all the cool stuff in our cars! (Keep in mind that the LCI cars are even more advanced in many ways...)

Enjoy!

Is a former owner of an E60 '04 I'll add, that a mayor safety update did occur in Nov. 2004 production.
The E60 was a only 3 star EuroNCAP car before that.

Note also that MY's will vary between US and EU. US MY's change in March and EU MY's in September.

Both minor and mayor updates and changes happens all the time.

But be aware of when your car will be / have been built!

I.e. the updated MY '08 is now availbale in EU with with new headrests avoiding whiplash injuries.

Strange you mentioning that just now. I just downloaded that document a few days ago to add to my inventory. And for all the reasons you mentioned. Lots of new owners of 04 e63s hitting the forums all over the place. Although just as is oft the case here you never really can tell from their first post question(s) if it is NEW to them or they have had it all along.

Maybe I'm just getting a bit cranky but I have to say it's even worse when many of these newbies think it's faster to simply PM me with every question they have instead of posting it publically first and getting the benefit of the other members answers (as well as mine if I have one)...
