the problem with a lot of these asian countries is there electrical supply
when they are welding, they get power fluctuations that result in "weak welds" not noticiable but under loads they can fail, beleive me i know as i race subarus and the products from china/taiwan are no where as strong as europe/north america
FACT.

+1. Don't sacrifice quality to save a few bucks, you will regret it.
i had replica 18 inch "taiwan" AC type IV racing alloys before, they vibrated a bit above 80kmh and did not come with the proper spacers eg.only thin rings of aluminium, and therefore there was a very small gap.
It is hard to tell if it was really made in Taiwan or the PRC.(some oem 122 spyders are made in PRC so not all PRC is rubbish!)
On the other hand, Pingy has a set (but wide rims) and they have been ok.
My wheel guy did not recommend fitting bigger then 18' replicas on a E60, he said it was dangerous as they may crack(showing me a cracked rim)on a big car!!
i now have original German made 19' breyton race cs, they came with snug fitting spacers and long screws, the ride and
stability and control is perfect, it's easily the best mod I have done, this is the part of the car in contact with the road surface, so only select the best to get the best ride and control.
think it over, 1000bucks more and you get the real deal
