Hi Mike,

For front, I recall 245/40. It was the fronts that I was concerned about and there for remember the dimensions. For the rear I simply used whatever was provided for the M5 -- I guess when I get home I can check the rear tire dimensions on my M5 and let you know. Again, it was the standard rear tire dimensions provided for the M5.

Check out "My Ride" on my signature below. You'll see some photos of my former 2006 530i with the 166 rims.

This reminds me. I need to post some pix of my new M5.

Cheers,
-Tony
Hi Tony
Thanks alot for your message ,kindly when you have time ,please take alook at your tyre size both front and rear(530i),I want abit more thickness so can have smoother ride
I am hoping you have 245/40 front and 285/35 rear, please confirm so i can buy this size tyre and i will go for PS2

i know they recommend 245/35/19 front and 275/30 back but in my thinking this is too thin for riding on non highway roads...and i am not so specific about speedometer...

I owe you one Tony, thanks in advance..

Mike

PS enjoy your M5 super car!

No problem at all in fitting these wheels on your car Just use the following tire size 245/35/19 in the front and 275/30/19 in the rear.

I think its all been said, but just to maybe give some peace of mind, I had mine (as above) checked and approved by T?V in Germany. This involves a paper specs evaluation, drive tests with their engineer and putting the car up on a ramp and being inspected underneath as well.

Great choice of rim Etienne

Thanks Mike!
Here's the info you needed, and it's what you were hoping! :

Front: 245/40ZR-19
Rear: 285/35ZR-19

I REALLY would recommend the 285's for the rear. It fit my 530i just fine and looks great.
If you haven't already done so, check out "My Ride" for my gallery -- You'll see how it looks!
Cheers,
Tony

wow Tony this is so good news for me!
I asked many times on this and other board ,everone was only recommending only 245/35 and 275/30 rear as they say you might have rubbing issue with bigger size tyres, now that it fits perfectly on yours i will go with your spec as i see in ur pictures it looks awesome !

Thank you so much again Tony for all your help
Mike

Mike,
take care on the width of 285 tires - not all 285 are 285, some are wider than others, and this may cause the rubbing...

Remember that the M5/6 is planned for these wheels, the E60 is not.

So stick to the E60 tire measurements!

They are as said 245/35 19" front and 275/30 19" rear.

But I have read that 285/30 19" in the rear is still OK but that's the max.

Anything wider will give you REAL PROBLEMS!

I have 285 30's in the rear with the 166's no problem.

Thanks!
Mike

i can tell you that for example the dunlops are slim tires. on my g/f's golf, she has conti 18" and those are so much wider than her falken 18" winter setup, even she notices and complains... like i said, the width of the tires vary from manufacturer to manufacturer...
