I should have ordered the folding seats but given the circumstances I really did not want to push the issue. I'm just happy that I'm able to do it all over again and this time get the things I wanted originally. Thanks for the support guys.

I've had fold-down rear seats on my four 5ers and none of them made any noise. They come in very handy when you need to put a bunch of stuff in the car...
Wow Rudy 4, not bad I'm catching up this will be 3.

Exactly! Third time back to the BMW dealer... The creaks is starting to come back again, only been like 2 weeks I notice there are some scotch tape looking strips around the metal where the sealant touches... Does that sound right?

The service bulletin is fairly well known around here -- the problem is that many people have had their seals replaced under the service bulletin only to have the creaking noise return a bit later.

Hopefully, your seals will remain quiet but don't be surprised if they start to creak again...

I must be out of touch or something, but I find it absolutely outrageous that 'folding rear seats' are an option and not standard on all models! Here in the UK I believe virtually every new car on the road (most costing considerably less than the 5) have this feature as standard. The 5 is generally well specced as standard, but not to have folding seats is pathetic.

Having said all that (and the fact I was unwilling to pay for this feature in principle) at least it will prevent me from ever trying to place large objects in the boot and damaging something.

My wife has a large car that does have the folding rear seats as standard anyway!

So far so good. I got a call yesterday and today from my new sales rep. She has been great so far and is really thorough and responsive. I'd like to say that today I ordered the new car. I have to pay the difference for the upgraded options but I get those at invoice price. Total $4735. new options in bold.

I ordered the 535xi Platnium Grey with Black interior, Step Auto, Sports package, Premium package, Cold weather package, 18" wheels, Logic 7, Comfort access, ipod adapt, Navigation, Sat radio, Rear spoiler, Extended Clear coat bra.

She said she will call me during the week and give me the tracking number.

I like to thank this group, my friend JR and Paul for advice and the knowledge of this vehicle. Our rights are always challenged and if you are not well informed you may be taken advantaged of. Research applied with knowledge is power and of course a little luck.
Good luck on your new ride. What dealer did you use?
cheers
