Exclamation

Hello

I finally decided to go with the new model vs second hand one, so I placed an order on a facelifted 525d on Tuesday (when the ordering system opened). Estimated delivery (in Finland) is mid April.

I'm quite excited since this will be my very first car.
Here are the options so far (which still can be changed):

? Jet black (change to some of the new colors?)
? Walnut trim (change to some of the new trims, bamboo/black maybe?)
? Sport suspension
? Leather sport steering-wheel
? Xenon-lights
? Cruise control
? Sensatec (beige or black? haven't decided yet)
? Satin chrome (should I go with Individual Satin Chrome?)
? Hifi-package
? Rear folding seats

Let me know if you have any suggestions etc.. The wait has begun!

You don't wanna miss these:

1. Logic 7
2. HUD
3. Active Cruise Control (if not already)
4. Adaptive Xenon Lights (if not already)
5. Professional Navigation (Can live without)

Thats all I can think of so far, but I would never miss those if I'm ordering another E60. oh and congrats on the wonderful car you're about to get!! The wait is gonna kill you even more since its your first car!! So, I wish you all the best during your miserable wait...

What rim does it come with? A nice rim will make a car look good. Also if you can have a look at the comfort seats and ask yourself can you live without Xenon light if the area you live in is well lit.

The wait will be hard, but I am sure is worth it.

Sounds like a great car. All you have specified are needed and I wouldn't take anything away. I still suggest you to consider HUD + nav. Just Business Navi is ok with HUD, no need for more expensive model. I really like HUD + navi combination and never give it up. Situation awareness is just great, nothing to compare. And I would like to point out that at least in my car guidance through HUD is different that basic info seen in i-drive, more informative and joy to use.

agree in German they will take you over in a sec , get the HUD instead that is nice to have for long journeys too, I have that and still no NAV.(no need).
Get L7 not HIFI you will NEVER regret it, that belongs to an E60.

Jet Black is nice, and get the new black if it is really nice and not imitating Piano Individual.

note: as we discussed many times these trims are real wood of 2 mm and varnished with plastic layer to protect- But that is ok, you scratch it no probs get some sponge and cloths and ready, imagine what you would do if it wood be wood and you scratch it. good choice and you still can ride it for some years till F10 comes out and they fix again all probs of 1st gen.

I'm sure the F10 (whenever it appears) will introduce a whole slew of new problems of its own and it would be very unwise to even think about purchasing one until it's been out at least 1 year. That's a long way off then so you did the right thing going with the LCI E60!

Here is some feedback on your choices...

- jet black isn't as deep as sapphire black metallic and is a bit harder to keep clean (but when clean it looks really good)
- wood trim looks nice (especially with beige interior). Try to see bamboo before you order (it's available on the new X5 so do a search for some pics)
- only order sports suspension if you have perfect roads; this together with run-flats can lead to a harsh and fidgety ride. You may not notice but your passengers will.
- sports steering wheel is a great choice
- xenons are wonderful... make sure they are also adaptive
- isn't cruise standard where you live?
- sensatec looks better in black than in beige. Black sensatec would look good with the new brushed aluminium trim (beware though this is easy to scratch)
- satin chrome... no comment ... if you like it get it
- HiFi ... an essential upgrade if you intend to listen to any music as the standard sound system is abyssmal (logic7 is overkill IMHO)
- rear folding seats... the boot is huge... do you really need them? They could cause rattles.

Hope this helps...

P.S. Don't forget those heated seats... I think you might need them where you live
