I don't have any doubt that you both will like the SMG. Another six months and I will never ever go back to a stick. I keep getting smoother and smoother.

Yeah, if I would be a good teacher and she feels a piece of exitement driving SMG pretty quickly, then her mouth connects to her mind. Ultimate driving!!
Believe me, I am a good instructor?

Thank you for your warm words, JDN.
I know that SMG in e60 has sport and normal mode.
-Does sport mode have very quick response as M3-SMG (middle sensitivity)?
-Is normal in e60 much slower than sport response?
I am just guessing the difference of these two modes.

Have not ever driven the M3-SMG, but compared to the commercial tape I listened to, E60-SMG is not as fast. However, sport mode is faster, but no smoother.

Some. It may be my imagination, but mine seems to be getting smoother. I was demonstrating to my wife how smoothly I could shift with my (toes-hardwired-to-the-paddle )method. Then I tried it without any lift on the accelerator (normal mode) and it was pretty darned smooth. Either this thing has become second nature, or I have developed the skill that was missing in the beginning.

I am just guessing the difference of these two modes.
There is a difference. Everything responds faster in Sport mode.

Nice choice

If it makes you feel better - 2 or 3 months is not a long wait

I have to wait 7 :'(

Thanks a lot, JDN
I really want to try E60-SMG by myself, especially to check the difference between sport and normal, and auto-mode.
Well, two more months...
