Exclamation

Buying a new car is gradually becoming a nightmare. Picking up options when you have narrowed down to a manufacturer of choice is obviously a picky thing these days. The restless nights, the research that you will have to do and the number of questions asked all add up to the craziness in defining "What i want in a new car".
Manufactures tend to use options as a way to set classes and variants of models. Sometimes, the options are such that you cannot match features together.
If you have ever encountered this experience, then this poll takes a look at the BMW 5 series and what your thoughts are on options that need to be standardised.
Take the Poll and provide comments on your reasoning.

Bluetooth, because extended air-con or Hi-fi Speakers were not listed. (I guess they are both already std. in US)

I agree, although I also miss the coming home/leaving home function from my Audi; very very useful when trying to find your car in the car park and when trying to get the key in the front door at night!

I choose automatic dimming because it's such a simple feature that BMW should be ashamed they are even charging for it! that should come standard on a $42,000 car, when $33,000 car come installed with that and even more options than the bare bone 525i

In Hong Kong, we get most of the useful stuff as standard on the E60, apart from Bluetooth. Would like to see Climate Comfort Windscreen as standard too.
Here, a GS300 with Bluetooth, Mark Lev & AFS costs approx US$12k less than a 530i.

It's already included in our e60s.

I would prefer that "everything" be optional--with a discount applied for every option chosen and with the total charge for options that equal package contents being equal to the cost of the package. The same discounts would be given for combinations of options having the same total costs, etc., etc.

Full size spare because it's silly to have to drive such a car with a doughnut.

I would also like to see Comfort Access standard because the new FOB meathod of starting the car is a huge step backwards. Either bring back the key or make CA standard.

And finally... where is I-Drive not standard on the E60?
