Options for Audio/Video Upgrades w/ iDrive System

I am lost as to how extensive I can get with my audio upgrades without losing total functionality of my i-drive system.

Are there any systems which integrate w/ the system and/or the LCD dash screen?

Please advise

I'd quite like to know this too. I'm interested in adding some speakers, and an amp or two, but also a normal head unit. Is this possible in the e60? especially if it comes with a DVD player.

Do a search on the forum for "navwithtv" for a system that integrates with iDrive.
This upgrades the TV functionality on cars with Pro-Nav (and hence a DVD already in)

Separate head units won't integrate. But I think they could be installed below the CD drive, where the Pro-Nav system has it's DVD drive.

Only way to go at the moment is RGB unit (like navwithtv) or separate head unit. Unfortunately it seem that BMW doesn't want us to alternate they "masterpiece".
