I looked through several threads and even thought of searching for this but did not know how to phrase it for a search.

Has anyone taken their car back to the dealer right after purchase or during purchase and had them add options.

Basically mine did not come with the comfort access or HD radio. Can the dealer add these and at what cost? Anyone done this?? I know it will be more than what is listed on the 'build your car' site but ballpark estimate would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'd guess that you can have almost anything retrofitted, but it will cost you an "arm and a leg"!
Just for reference, I know of a guy that got a used E60 with cloth upholstery and wanted the dealer to change it to leather!!
They did.....but it was expensive!! Almost three times the cost AFAIK..
Some wiring harnesses could be VERY difficult to change making it not worth it. Maybe some dealers won't even do it!

Leather is quite common here to add later. This is due to taxation on the moment of importing the car. So a factory fitted option is taxed and a later added one is not. Leather is done at many specialised companys and quite often you can choose among any kind of leather (not just from the brand you drive) and any level (just seats, also dash, also other parts) which makes it possible to get a better thing than factory fitted.

Most other accessories require taking apart parts of the car and that means labor, meaning cost. Simple adding cupholders costs hundreds of Euro's as that part of the dash is integrated. Stupid design.
