opening boot from the inside possible?
#1
Hi,
I used to own an e39 which had a buttom to open the boot from the inside. It was located near the motor latch. Now i own a E60, but the buttom for opening the boot from the inside is gone. But there's still a space for it ingraved in the plastic.!.
Does anyone have this buttom in it's E60.?? Does BMW offer a retrofit ???
You would think this buttom would still be there, seeing that the boot can now fully open automaticly in contrast to the E39.
thanks for any info you can give me.

The button is standard in the US but not elsewhere.
Not sure if there is a retrofit -- this topic was discussed here quite some time ago so maybe a search will turn up more info...

Welcome aboard, pantai !
You are probably not in the US. This is standard in the US. And it can NOT be retrofitted according to BMW Munich!!

If you're talking about the trunk there is a glow in the dark pull handle (In the US anyway) in the trunklid if you ever get locked inside your trunk! (The Transporter) (Goodfellas) (Casino) (Movies)

I got it retrofitted.
On 2nd thought, maybe the models here are "prepared" already for this gadget, just like the BT thingy.

[/quote]I know about that and had my dealer check the part number. This part number is unknown in the BMW computer system, even in Munich.
