Am I being pedantic or is the horn badly positioned, I don?t find that it easily comes to hand, I?m sure it?s an old fashioned placement.
I know it?s been mentioned before but those bloody left hand drive windscreen wipers are a little annoying. Everything else is excellent, even like the run flat tyres.

No, not being pedantic. Anal, maybe, but not pedantic.

I don't have an issue with the placement, but think the BMW horn sounds really weak, almost sissy-like.

Actually, its not that bad compared to some other cars. The Ferrari 360 Modena's horn is even worse. Some owners replace their horn with the one from the F355.

I don't have a problem with the placement of the horn either. On the SMG sport steering wheel, the horn is the big circular shape that takes up almost the entire center of the steering wheel. Can't miss it. Takes a good bit of force to press it down though.

Ahhh - my standard steering wheel provides a great horn placement - my thumbs. Perfect for machine-gun-like alternating thumb blasts (try it sometime).

I have "activated" random things instead of sounding the horn on several occasions. Not sure about your complaint of Left-handed windscreen wipers--I didn't know they "belonged" on one side or another.

As an aside, on my first BMW (1971 2002), those "bloody" turn signals were on the right. Would that make them Right-hand drive signals?

Ambidextrously yours,

I agree. The horn is not within reflex reach. I've hit other buttons in panic mode before. As for the wiper stalk, on several occasions I have mistakenly hit the wiper switch instead of the turn signals.

Yeah, I agree with you on the left hand drive windscreen wipers. Considering most of the members on the forum are from the US & Non-UK Europe, I don't think you'll get much sympathy.

It's a little off-putting initially and it annoys me that the top curve of the wiper is on my side instead of the passenger's. So technically, the passenger side has marginally better visibility in the wet than the driver's side.

Still, at the end of the day, it's a great car regardless.

I dont like the blinking/turning light positions -- i cant see either of them with the steering wheel down.
