My 545 will only take a gallon or two of gas at the the pump before it clicks off. I then have to reset it and it does it again.

Obviosuly some mis-alignment in the filler nozzle that the dealer will need to fix...just curious if anyone else has experienced this too

Too much pressure in the pump. Either don't squeeze the trigger all the way or try pulling the nozzle slightly away from the car. This is extremely common.

Yes, that happened to me when I rented a 530 as a long test drive. I pulled in to a gas station and was having trouple filling the tank. A kindly older German explained it to me as to much preasure (air/fumes) coming back up the filler neck and causing the auto shut off in the pump to stop. His last remark was something to the effect; "American's always in a rush, enjoy the nice car and your life!" I didn't take offense since he has seen more of life than I have and started to just place it on the half way click to fill my cars. Interesting what you can see at the gasoline station.

DXXI, I think your statement is correct. I was going thru the same but my inner computer brain informed my hand pulse that I was too unkind inserting the nozzle into her so deep .

Problem solved by been more gentle to her. I
thought she liked it deep. boy was i wrong. She likes, pumping gas into her, soft and gentle.

Thanks for the responses guys...

I should have added this is my 3rd E60 this year (525, 545, 545) and I've never had this problem before. In addition I tried 3 different stations and a couple different angles...I DIDN'T howver try any setting other than maximum in terms of how far I was squeezing the nozzle...I'll give that a go today
