Okay I think I finally got my heat situation sorted out I will know for sure tomorrow when I pick up my car the dealer says that it finally threw a fault code out and it was the water pump defective as just about every other part on the car has been. And the ultimate thing is I am out of warrenty a 1200 dollar job according to my SA. Luckly I think they are going to cover it as I did complain about it on or shortly after my warrenty had expired. So if anyone else is haveing heat issues make sure you let the dealer know about it before the warrenty runs out thanks friends for all of your help on this experiance.

It threw a fault code for a water pump?.. is there such thing?

i had a similar problem and i just had to learn the car... once i adjusted the red bars in the idrive climate screen the heat was blasting.. a buddy has a 545 and asked me why he never feels the heat hot.. i explained the red bars and everything is good now.

but never did i hear of a water pump throw a fault code

+1

A failed water pump would lead to serious engine problems caused by excessive heat. I've never heard of a sensor on a water pump.

A blocked heater core seems to be a more likely culprit, but then I couldn't imagine a sensor on that either.

Sorry you guys are correct he mistated it threw a fault code for the thermostat stuck open. They also tested the pressure or volume of the water pump and it was not correct so that was replaced also fault code was 279b for the thermo according to my paper work. Drove the thing home and literally had to open the roof and windows as it pured out heat I am a happy camper now. They also finally fixed my squeaky rear deck which actually turned out to be the seat back and brackets out of adjustment, they also fixed another defective cup holder I guess the service manager driving the care around to a from home for a week gets results.
