Default Only changing the front tires

My cars has( all 4) Continental ContiTouringContact CV95 P225/50R17 EcoPlus Tires....My steering wheel is shaking above 45mph, so i went to a BMW Indy and they looked for 30-40mins..... I asked them to check for Control arm bushing if its leaking..... they confirmed their is No to very very minor leak on CAB, but my front tires are completely worn from inside.....and that is causing some vibration and also grinding noise..... They suggested me to replace only the front tires and the rear tires look brand new.....

What shall I do now?

Option1: Replace all 4 tires

Option2: Buy 2 tires with same brand/make etc as the existing ones and only change the front 2 tires

Please suggest, this is the first time I am buying tires..... These tires already have 38k miles on them... Thanks

If the front and rear tires have close to 40k miles then they are rears do not look brand new. I would just replace them all.

If the rears look in good shape; then were they replaced recently? Or never rotated?

3mm is roughly 4/32nds. 4/32nds is definitely NOT anywhere near new, not sure why your indy is telling you that.

If I'm in your shoes, I'm buying four new tires.

At any rate, your best pair of tires belongs on the rear. Regardless of whether you have RWD, FWD or AWD.

Why? You can't steer the back end (except with throttle).
