Older 5 series cars
The 190hp is for a older E39 528 w/M52 engine or the newer modeled E39 525 with M54 engine. The 03 530i is pretty much going to be the same as the 04 530i @ 230hp. \

While I agree that the E39 is a darn sexy car, the E60 has grown on me more than I ever thought possible! Upon launch, I was one of the naysayers, thinking the desing was too radical of a departure. Now after having the benefit of hindsight seeing the LCI releases and the new F10, I think the E60 is undoubtedly the best looking of the 5 series.
If you like the 528i E60, test drive a 535i E60 before you decide on an E39! It's a totally different driving experience, and will suit you nicely coming from the M3! The price on a used '08 should be below $30K, even on CPO cars, and could dip as low as low 20's if high mileage doesn't scare you. I find the 535i to be the perfect blend of power/performance and civility (good mpg/4 door sedan) that make it a perfect daily driver!

I really don't want to spend $30,000 on a car. I'm looking in the $10K range. Lots of E39's at that price. I do like the looks of the E60, but the E39, to me, is better looking. The thing I like most about my E60 is the interior size and absolute comfort. If the E39 is as comfortable and fun to drive as the E60, I will be very happy.
