Has anyone used any of the oil test labs out there? It costs about $22USD. I am going to take a swing at it with my Jeep that I just changed the oil in. I was thinking about doing the same with the BMW since the oil change intervals are recommended to be so long.
I am using Blackstone Labs this go around.
Anyone done the same?

No but I heard of people doing it and they seem to like the results... give it a try... you'll be surprised how well oil stands up to the engine torture...

Depends on the engine you have. Reports on the N54 seem to say that it destroys oil pretty quickly.

Is this the N54tt or the old normal N54?
Disclaimer: I don't have any direct knowledge of the engine's oil use (yet) - just what I've read on BITOG.

I did a test run with Blackstone Labs this week on our 1998 Jeep Wrangler. It was interesting to see results. I am going to take another run with my 530 that has about 5K on the current oil.
