Thumbs down

I created the poll to see the percentage, and to take it as a guideline...so every e60 owner is invited!

We trust BMW to engineer, build, and style your vehicle, why not trust their recommendations for maintenance of same?

I this is for me I can say that in some extrme cases oil level can rice in engine, when You have -20C every morning when You start. Condensate... And it's worse if car stays outside when temp comes from extreme frozen temps to zero ?. 25tkm to 30tkm is so much that at least with my car don't see so much road in one year.

Better safe than sorry...

I didn't/couldn't vote. I do #1, and #2 & #3 seem to be the same thing, which I also do.

If you're only planning to keep your car for as long as the warranty period, then by all means only change the oil as often as BMW will pay for it. I never know how long I'll keep a car (I've gone anywhere from 10 years to 4 months!!!), so I always decide to change it more often. With synthetics, I change after the break in period (2K - 3K miles) and then once in between the BMW recommended intervals (I pay and tell them to not reset the service indicator), and then when the service indicator says to. So basically, after the break in period, I pay every 7,500 miles and BMW pays every 7,500 miles. A small price to pay for peace of mind.

Exactly what I do.$40.00+tax is a small price to pay for the extra oil and filter change at the BMW dealer.
cheers

I am tossing out the numbers for 1 and 6 mentally since the items given are inconsistent with items 2 through 5. 6 is an accident (I guess), and 1 pertains only to the first oil change. Maybe 6 is for null votes. If so, it seems very odd to include null votes in the count/percentages. I doubt 6 is for the null votes though since over 200 have viewed at this point.

I'll change every 7,500 mi. after 50K mi. Same as halfway between service indicator(without resetting) and at the recommended interval(with reset).
