The dealer changed my oil about 60 days ago. This morning I started the car and minutes into the drive the ?Oil at minimum Level? indicator showed up. When I got to the office I check the oil level and the oil is very low. Is this normal? I have not driven the car more than 3,000 miles since the last service date. I am curious is any of you have seen this and if I have reason for concern.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Probably no problem--yet. You could report the situation to your SA for a possible service need and for an oil top off--on the quick to be safe.

I checked my oil level a week after the last service and found it to be at the minimum level. Clearly they had put the minimum amount in.
next time I shall check before I leave the car park!

Reading from the sensors or oilstick?
What did the bill say?

Had my first low oil level warning today at 14,400 miles. Have about 3300 miles before first inspection. Topped up the oil with 1 litre of Castrol SLX (purchased from BMW - ?14.95) as instructed by i-Drive. The i-Drive oil reading now shows level as full! Mine is a petrol 5er... I think Diesel 5er's use different oil type.
