I have read a lot about the VW-group cars (Audi, VW, Skoda, Seat) and their engine oil consumption problem.

Every Audi engine drinks oil, even as much or even more as you wrote.

I really wonder how they can say, that their cars are not heavy polluters???

My car consumed I liter of oil (1 qt I assume) in just 3200 m (2000 miles). I was very alarmed because I had an Alfa Romeo 156 that consumed 1 liter / 1000 km, and that is the reason why I sold it. I went to BMW service center and the engineer over there told me that this is pretty normal in the break in period. My car is 2005 520i A.

Should I believe him? Or is there something wrong with my car?
