In the world of BMW's consuming one quart of oil every 6000-7000 is "acceptable" ... many high performance cars will use a quart very 1000 miles. Based on your latest posts where 1/2 quart upped your bar count I suspect that your oil sensor is working properly. You might consider increasing the frequency of oil changes - especially if your condition based service indicators are showing 15K - 18K miles for oil service.

That said, is still in the paid service program I'd do a mid-cycle oil change but not reset the service indicator. And I think most drivers know that the paid service program permits oil services one time per year OR when indicated by the CBS in iDrive - whichever occurs first. .

I change it at 7500 miles and the dealer does my regular service as part of the free maintenance on my car. The car has been saying 15,000 every time it was reset (twice for me so far). I have done this with my previous BMW's too. I will continue to watch it.

Ya better keep on top of that because that same oil level sensor cost the warranty company 6,000 bucks to fix. The i-Drive says the car has oil, but it really dosen't. Mine got noticed when it was too late, as a result the vehicle was driving with-out oil, and now we are in week 4 at the dealer for repairs.
