I had the oil changed after reaching the break-in miles.

The dealer's service department may have been a bit ambitious with the fill as I checked the oil-level in I Drive today and saw this.

Is there any problem with over-filling?

Also, how much oil is represented by each mark on the virtual dip-stick?

I didn't even know you could check the oil level in iDrive. Oh well....

Hmm, I would just call and ask. That's wierd. I've never had more oil than needed!

Good Luck,

james

My 5 manual indicates that overfilling definitely can be a problem. I would let some out. I am away from my manual now, but check in yours; I think it contains info pertinent to your "how much" question.

One problem with overfilling is that the engine can run too hot.

Apparently the new R6 engines don't even have a dipstick. I guess no "dipstick" is a good thing!
