Not familiar with Philly, but where are you leaking from? Some common areas of leakage are easy enough for a DIY if you turn a wrench occasionally...

I recommend you contact someone at the BMWCCA Philadelphia area chapter for a list of BMW Certified Independent Mechanics. http://www.delvalbmwcca.org/

If you aren't (yet) a member of the BMWCCA I recommend joining.

There is a gasket behind the alternator bracket that leaks a good amount of oil when it goes bad. It is reinforced by the motor mount bracket as well. This is NOT and easy job but the good news is it's a $3 gasket.

There is a DIY under the topic "oil leak 545 545 545..." here on the forum. The original poster Allen and I have done this in our garages. Allen was much more efficient than I was in doing so and completed this in an afternoon almost. The stealer will quote you anywhere from $1200-1600 and the indys will be about half of that. Feel free to ping me or Allen if you do decide to do this yourself.
