I recently took the 5er to get my summer wheels put on and now have a significant amount of oil leaking from under engine compartment. I am not good at diagnosing cars and was wondering if wheel change could ever cause this if they bumped something or this could be a random coincidence. I just passed the 50k mark a few weeks ago and my BMW dealer said they would not cover it either way. thanks.

Sounds like whoever swapped your wheels may have caused a problem - but jacking a car, done properly, shouldn't get them anywhere near engine. Are you certain the oil leak was there but undetected until just recently?

+1 Either it was there before or someone knocked something loose. Surely they used a proper lift? I suppose if they just slid a jack under it any old place, they could have caused sufficient damage for a leak?
