My Ride: 535 D - to be delivered end Feb 2005 - color E08 - comfort seats - executive leather balck - 122 wheels - dynamic drive - active steering - pack luxe - tecnology pack - moon roof - 6CD player - hifi system - spare wheel - BT phone
I noticed when check in the oil level that the car consumed in +- 6000 km (4000 miles) half of the gauge.
Is it normal (I am driving 85 % on highways). If so I will have to refil at least 2 times before service in 24000 km.
Any experience.
Thanks

My Ride: 525d Touring MY2004, executive line, shadowline, comfortline II, leather, aux.input, heated seats, bluetooth, auto dimming interior mirror, steptronic 6 speed, removable hitch
I already added 0.6 liter to the engine in 5000km.
This seems to be 'normal'in the break-in period till about 10000km.
After that the oil consumption should go to much lower levels.

Waiting for trunkopener button from Hobi :)
I have a 3.0i petrol engine. In my previous 330CI I had to fill her up twice before I had the first service appointment.
My 530i had her first service appointment yesterday at 23.000 kms and in this period I didn't have to fill her up with extra oil. The container is still in my trunk unused.. Strange isn't it?
Maybe it has to do with my more relaxed driving style and Manual versus Automatic transmission??
