Hi Everybody
I had my oil change recently as part of the service interval at 59000 miles at my local bmw dealer in Chelmsford, however when i got in home only doing approx 5 miles the oil still looks black. I own a 530d, i have spoken to the service department and told me this normal because it is a diseal, can this be true?? or i have i been stitched up. I looks like the oil has been changed as there is some spillage on the tray ot the bottom of the engine.

It will blacken quickly(alot quicker than petrol cars) but it should look the same as the old oil within 5 miles. The black in the oil is the oil holding carbon deposits like it supposed to, it could be the new oil mixed with whats left of the old oil in the sump when they drained it and darkened it up.
