Given your climate I would see no problem with your running Mobil 1 5W-30. It is a great oil from the same family.

If your other Walmart doesn't carry the 0W-40 you may also want to try persuading one of them to order the 0W-40 for you. You might ask them what the standard master case pack for the 4 litre jugs are (most likely 4 jugs per master or 6 jugs per master case). That way if they don't want to cut-in display space for the 0W-40 they will know they won't get stuck with the extra jugs and no way to display and sell them.

Also check Walmart internet ordering in Canada with site to store free shipping. As you can see, in the US the 5 quart jug is available shipped free to the store for pickup.

If you can't find the 0W40, then use the 5W30.

Most of the Canadian Tire stores that I go to have the 0W40, but not in the 4.54 litres container, nor the 3.78 litres (1 US gallon) container.

I always buy the 1 litre size anyway, except the last time when I picked up 18 litres of Redline 5W30 at 3.99 $ a litre! CDN Tire no longer carries Redline and were getting rid of their remaining stock. Now I have two oil changes for cheap.
Salut, Bob P.

So I changed my oil and followed the PDF I found on this site and it was a breeze.

I got raped by the dealer, they charged me $40 CDN for the filter... So for next time where can I get a oil filter for cheaper and do you guys know how to reset the oil interval service?

Thanks

Both Mann and Hengst are OE suppliers to BMW.

Here is a Hengst, which I use, at $8.

Follow the attached to reset the CBM oil service in iDrive.
