As earlier said, I'm interested in the metric 0 - 100 km/h
speeds and the 80 - 120 km/h overtaking speeds.
Of course, the US quarter mile is also a worldwide measurement.
In this comparison the BMW 540iA is meeting hard V8 competition of the MB E500,
Audi A6 4.2 and the Lexus GS.
See also the 52 bilder part!
Even if this is in German I'm sure you smart guys can navigate through.
The point that I didn't like about this comparison was that MB had their E500 but BMW
only the 540i.
In practice the BMW won the test.
Here you can see the honorable Autobild's measurements.

What you mention is what the article in Drag News says. Incidentally, I bought a new weather meter--returning my other to REI. The new one, which my sales person was unaware of, does the usual plus dew point and relative humidity. I won't get it until about the 11th of this month. What do you make of the data given below? Using the columns, notice that my weighted average RWHP values oscillate, on averge, as density altitude increases. Ignore, for now, the weighted average torque values to avoid minor confusion. I have not yet figured out what might cause this pattern.
The pattern implies that adjusting for more weather, say 42%, would be more appropriate some of the time, while adjusting for less weather, say 25%, would be more appropriate some of the time, etc., etc. Ultimately, the implication is that more and more weather adjustment should be made over the downward oscillations and vice versa. Thoughts please???
