6000K is what I upgraded both my BMW xenons too. It makes a world of difference and doesn't have that blueish/purple color like all those Jap cars out there.

4300K. Like everyone said, but I think its a bit yellowish when lit
I think 6000K is too blue. 5400K might be a good alternative between the two.

How many years?
It's hard to say in years. The xenon bulbs have a rated lifespan of about 3000 hours or so. In it's usable life, the color of most high quality 4300k HID bulbs to about 6000-6500k. Usually the color will jump up a few hundred K right in the beginning, and then the progression is more linear until a spike at the very end.

if you want to see color difference in some bulbs, look at my album. i have stock 4300k headlights and 8k fogs. sometime i plan to upgrade the headlights to 6k. F the stock 4300

Thanks all, i know most OEM are 4300k, but when i look at e60 Xenon headlight, it is whiter and brighter, maybe just me, so i thought maybe BMW upgrade to 5400k or 6000k
