oem hood feels so cheap, light, it feels like it will dent if you put slight amount of pressure on it
or is it just mine?

It does dent when you apply pressure, it dents every time I wax over the hood. The dent doesn't stay of course but still.
I guess they have to keep the weight down somehow...

My hood has a lot of little rock chips in it and I am probably going to get a CF hood in a while (long while probably)

It's normal. My dads old old S Mercedes was solid bulletproof. Then he got the newer S430 and in about that time period, the light weight era began. The doors did not shut all robusty-ness-ly ( ) and the car still felt solid but not tank-like like the S class before that.

My mom's old minivan would dent on the side when you leaned on it. That thing was a piece of crepe.
Since I do not lie on my hood too often I don't really mind it being a little thin.

They're made from aluminum for weight reduction..............don't press too hard when waxing !
