if you buy from a licensed dealer even not a bmw one, i bet they would never want to do that. that would cost them entire dealership just to settle your case. but if you buy from a private owner, i bet anything is possible. but you mention your car is 06 and the mileage is 28K miles. that sounds ok. if they want to roll back why they left it at 28K miles? why not lower for a 06 model? remember one rule when buying used car, you have to ACCEPT and LIVE WITH the problems you have on the car after you SIGN that paper. CARFAX would help you a bit. but i dont think no one would ever want to do a roll back nowadays since its all electronics and easier to detect a roll back. and if they get caugt, that means JAIL TIME. i dont think a 06 E60 owner would do that just to make little extra dollars on the sale. There are numerous ways to find out if it was rolled back. And if you find it inconsistent, the guy sold you the car should pack his stuff for a long vacation behind bars. be happy, drive it like you stole it. floor it.

a late model E36 M3 high profile color in NJ has been tampered with, if anyone is in the market to buy one, perhaps you should double check the computer settings THOROUGHLY!!! That member has at least a couple of profiles on this site, and has the expensive computer systems (2 of them) to allow such NO NO action to take place,so I'd be very careful
OOPS, I've re read the post, there is a typo, the state is NH (the "j" and the "h" keys are so close on the keyboard it was to be typed NH but was typed something else in error). And I don't think that a color like dark red close to high profile,it's a common color for a lot of cars. Also, this info was told to me by a friend of the owner of that car, so it's really second hand inof anyhow. And as the logo on a trunk can be removed and replaced, who knows if the car I saw once was truly what the logo shows. Guess I'll be more aware of my one finger typing so to avoid typos.

No - the trip computer can be reset with a push of a button. It measures the distance of each trip (assuming you reset it), hence the cunning name. The odometer tells you how many miles the car has done since leaving the factory and cannot be reset by the owner.

Lol - call me what you want if it means getting a personalised name under my avatar. Ok, so I haven't got an avatar, but you get the point Infact, I think the first 675 members of this forum should automatically be entitled to a personalised name...
