Sales of the E60 in October climbed 6%from last month, but when compared to one year ago the news is ugly: down 23%. Even worse, the MB E-Class sold 57% more units in October than September, and was up 146% over last year! The E-Class sold 5,160 units to the E60's 3,043 in October. Ouch.

What's Hot
Porsche Panamera sold 360 units for an odd-looking car that costs $150k but goes like stink
BMW 7 series outsold the MB S-Class and the Lexus LS
Cadillac's new SRX model is off to a good start with 3,477 units sold in Oct
MB E-Class
Audi A5 +28% over last year

What's Not
Smart ForTwo -70% from last year
BMW 1 series -57% from last year
Infiniti M -55% from last year

It makes sense. BMW does not really market the e60 at all. All the marketing focus is on the 7 and the 3 right now

Its a shame that the 1 series is such a hated car in the US. It has potential that is for sure. I believe the 5 series sales will certainly bump up with the new car arrival, just because there are probably some people holding off their purchase for the new car

+1 I really like the 1 too. I have only ever seen two on the road before in Colorado

I've never understood why BMW introduced the 1-series at all. For about $3k more you can get a proper 3-series with more goodies. Yes, I know I'm comparing a sedan to a coupe, but for my money (and a whole lot of other people) the 3-series is a much better value.
