the steering wheel will only go up when it is tilted down. if it is already tilted up because that's how you like it, then it won't go up anymore when you take the key out.
Haha... well, yeah, of course.

I'd like to see the SAT mode and and gear in the HUD, an oil temp guage (maybe as part of the sport pkg), the ability to disable the "active" part of active cruise, and lower cost options. I couldn't justify the price for active cruise when there are times I wouldn't want it. Same with the price of ventilated seats. The 5er competition, especially the Infinity M45 has a lot more goodies for the $ than the 550i. However I went for the 550i because IT IS the better car.

What else is missing?
I would like an engine temperature gauge. I like to treat the engine gently when cold so I would find this useful.

Nothing!!

We also have e66 7 series and comparing 5er and 7er, I cannot think of a single feature that is on the 7 series but is missing on the 5 series. I strongly believe 5 series is BMW's ultimate blend of performance/luxury.

Long live the 5 Series.

I would like a trunk that only opens when the car is unlocked. It happened several times now that I am sitting on my couch and inadvertedly open the trunk. Of course I will only notice later. I've made it a habit to check whether the trunk is still closed.
(And I like the option to open the trunk with the fob so much, that I do not want to lock the trunk with the key on a daily basis)

Hmm... I was going to ask for the opposite! Mine *only* opens when the car is unlocked. If I try to use the fob to open the trunk when the car is locked, and I hold the button down for too long I end up setting the car alarm off (panic feature?).

I see you're in Belgium. Maybe that is the reason it is different.

If i recall correctly, my previous two 'e60' did it. I need to verify on the 08. But i am pretty sure *she* does it also.

I would also like a temperature gauge, and a dip stick would be good too.
