Great vid Steve, brings it all back, will be there on 15th Jul for a few laps. On the vid with the Seat Leon could you have passed him/her or was his/her car quicker? Its just that with your expertise on the Ring I thought you would have easily passed him/her or was he/she a very experienced driver?

great
btw how many laps do you have in your record now? you seem to know the track really well
200+. But I'm a beginner compared to lots of the regulars there.

Steve you lucky so and so.....

Great video Is the the speed in kph? and secondly did you get to speak to the guy in the M6? If so I bet he was very surprised to have a diesel on his tail all the way!
MPH! The M6 driver is a friend whom I met last September at the ring - nice guy. He recognised me in his rear view mirror

Absolutely stunning

Few questions:

1. How is this done - presumably you have some diagnistic kit attached to your car - graphics for acceleration/ braking / left / right are brilliant as is the ring diagram - looks like playstation

2. Presume the numbers on the right are miles per hour - think I saw 133 plus at one point.

3. What does the number on the left (500) mean ?

4. Who was driving the M6? - it clearly had the edge when accelerating out of corners, but you kept catching him on the bends - is that just cause you are a better driver or know the circuit better ?

Fabulous stuff - really great
1. DL1 data logger from Race Technology - then I use trackvision.net software to sync the video and DL1 data.
2. MPH
3. 500 is a fixed field being sent by DL1 because I don't have a RPM feed - working on that.
4. M6 driver is a friend from Finland who I met last year at the ring - hard to compare our experience but I don't think he's been on a training course at the ring (which I have) but as you know the only fair way to compare something is to have the same driver. We were just both out there having fun I also have a better braking setup which would explain my later braking than him (and therefore catching him on the corners)

awesome vid. loved every minute.

was going to ask this before but i've never been to the ring, what's all the writing on the track? is it graffiti?
Yip Ring is accessible overnight and you can turn up the next day to find something new written on the track. Adds character

Great Steve! Good run, but let's be honest the guy in the M6 either didn't want to push it that much, or didn't know the track that well or lacked skill or smth...Either way good run...and another proof that the diesel doesn't sound as diesel anymore.
We were just both having fun I'm not trying to pretend the diesel is an M6 beater

BTW I had 4 people in my car he had 1

The Seat Leon lap was my vid but uploaded to Google by someone else. It was taken at Knockhill, a circuit in Scotland, last year. From what I can recall there was no way I could get past him on the straights and being a lighter and more nimble car I wasn't going to get past him anywhere else either. Remember its 280bhp in a car thats way lighter than mine

Hopefully I will be there the 15th July weekend, will need to arrange to meet up.

Great Vid!

I am appreciating the 535d more and more, the longer I have it the less bored I am getting with it which is unusal for me. Watching your vid makes me want to get some proper suspension put on and a better ARB.
