That's the one major reason I didn't spring for the CPO/extended warranty - electronics are not really covered. Hope you get her fixed soon, John! Keep us updated

***UPDATE*** CCC is dead, TCU is dead, both need to be replaced and programmed. I managed to find a TCU for $150 w/6 mo warranty, and I found a CCC (BTW they are year specific) w/6mo warranty as well. The TCU I am picking up on Saturday, and the CCC has been ordered. I am also ordering either an Aux input or an iPod adapter, I figure if they gotta program it anyway might as well right? When programming I'll have them disable my DRL's, they have to code for MP3 when they do the adapter anyway, and I'll see about an updated nav disc. Wish me luck - I aint out of the woods just yet.

used with a 6/mo warranty, in other words same as a reman unit so it didn't make sense to spend another $200 + $500 core charge for a reman unit to get the same warranty. Also, for pre 09/05 cars they don't make new CCC units anymore, and if my research is correct they don't make new units for pre-LCI at all anymore. The only choices left are reman and used.

Thanks Bro, parts are ordered:
CCC unit - $630 w/6 mo warranty
TCU unit - $150 w/30 day exch (local so not too worried)
Aux Input - $80 (figured since I gotta reprogram the CCC anyway might as well get my iPod hooked up)
Labor? We'll see.

There is a local guy that does a lot of automotive computers repairs and such. He can generally find out the actual electrical component that goes bad. When mine finally takes a dump I think I'll go there and see what he can do. I'm constantly surprised at what he can fix.

Gee thanks, that might have been good info BEFORE I bought the replacement unit
