"noises" while parked

My Ride: 2008 550i Space Gray
hello all.....i have noticed on several occassions while the car has been parked in the garage...that it makes alot of odd noises.....like some electrical motor running for 1-2 seconds....coming from the front of the car.....
i know the vehicle is complex with alot of electronic brains......but...what sensor or motor would this be that it has to do this ALOT.....
anyone else hear the noises??

The cracking noice is from the active steering, and when it sounds like that it's broken :'(
Does it sound that way when locking and opening the car ?? Our car does that

My SMG makes a bunch of noises when going to sleep as well as waking up. I know one of the wake-up noises is some sort of hydraulic pump for the clutch pressurizing so it can be ready to operate...

i noticed on several occassion while cleaning/hanging out in the garage.....the car had not recently been driven and it was randomly making the noise every few minutes......just thought it was odd.....

It's normal for the car to make certain noises when waking up (sleep mode starts around 16 minutes...)

Couldnt tell you exactly what it is, but my 2004 X5 does the same thing. It's probably some sort of cooling after the engine shuts off. Anyone know anything definite?

My Ride: 2004 545i 6 spd Sports Package | NAV | PDC | Logic 7 | BT retrofit | SW V13.3
AS module from the front right of the engine compartment. SERVO winding up and down. CD Changer in glove box, continues spiining. Computer Module in left side of trunk, fan continues to cool. All this is normal.
