CAS is throwing A0C1 output terminal 50 and A0C2 output terminal 50RS codes. AOB4 Engine start code after start attempt. 50e terminal reads 0.13V during start attempt. 50e terminal reads 6.47V when not attempting start. Points to high resistance short somewhere or bad grounding. Added additional grounding between chassis and engine block. Still no start. Battery healthy. IBS disconnect trick at battery does not help start. I looked by driver side and water appears to have entered cabin through wiring harness to area near CAS and light module. Suspected CAS was damaged. Took out CAS and inspected board. No evidence of water damage on CAS as everything looked ok there. Suspected Lighting module had water damage. Light module looked like it had some cooked chips upon inspection yet it was returning no fault codes. Water definitely was in the lighting module as I could shake some water out from under the integrated circuit chips. Reinstalled CAS after inspection. Did not reinstall lighting module; attempted start and then she starts up no problem. Never saw this solution written up on any forums. I thought it was funny to have the lighting module with no codes yet it was the problem.

I bought used lighting module. Any coding really needed for the used lighting module installation after it is delivered? Is the bimmergeeks product able to do lighting module coding if it necessary? (Canada has daytime running lights; my yet-to-be-delivered used US light module will likely not be programmed for daytime lights)

All I see needs to be done is VIN coding and default. I use NCSEXPERT and WINKFP

Because it was not functional enough to send any codes.

It all depends on how the software was written. No error codes could mean the same as no fault.

Ironically I could run all the lights with the bad module; did a good job preventing start.
