Ok, so this guy is living proof that you CAN have MP3 capability and NOT have Navigation.? It's looking like to me that Logic 7 is getting the MP3 capability as well.? Am I missing something here?

From what I read in this thread, that theory still seems to be holding true.

[/quote]I don't think anybody has said that having Logic is or will cause mp3's to NOT work. I had stated, seemingly incorrectly, that in the U.S. cars required Logic 7 to get the mp3 activated by the 16.x software. The timing is dependent on no Nav (available now) and Nav (available in Sept). So what I am now gathering, having Logic 7 or not has no impact on whether you can, at some point, get mp3 activated.

It's definately not the L7 what gives him MP3 support. It must be the Sirius.
Strange...
It is not supposed to work yet...

So am I. I suppose it is the MAS-K vs. CCC computers in the nav and non-nav cars that makes the difference. All cars use the same L7 system I guess... I just have never paid much attention to the business vs professional stereo system in Europe which seesm to make a difference over there. Oh well. I'm old school and have never burned a CD, so it really makes little difference to me, just like to know.
That is exactly what Iceman is saying. According to Iceman (who has almost always been right) you can only pay MP3s if you have Radio Pro and cannot play them if you have Radio Business. In the US, you ONLY get Radio Pro if you get Nav (otherwise you get Radio Business -- even with L7 -- and hence cannot play MP3s). However, it now transpires that if we have Sirius, we are getting Radio Pro, even if we don't have Nav which is allowing us to play MP3s.
But ICEMAN also seems confused that MP3s are not currently supposed to work in the US.
I'm still confused -- is Iceman saying that Sirius allows MP3's to work?

Looks like Sirius might be the wildcard for playing MP3s in the US. The only other person who can play MP3s on this board is "Asahi" who also has Sirius on his car.

Me too Rudy! I thought the U.S. got the pro radio no matter what and that business radio was not even available here in the U.S. Oh well, guess it's as clear as mud now!
If you search a thread with ICEMAN's posts on this issue, it might be more clear. However, here is a link to one that also explains it:

Right now, your car is working as expected.? I don't know it they'll ever make MP3 discs play in the changer.? The fix might be software related but I think it's more likely hardware related which means it'll never happen...
