Does changing to a bigger tire+wheel mean that I need to have the speedometer recalibrated.

And can I get this done by any tire shop or does this too have to be done by the BMW dealership?
I thought about this too, but I did the math and while the rim is one inch bigger, the PS2 tire is a lower profile than the all season tire, so the overall change in wheel/tire diameter was tiny.

Lakeshorewheels is selling 18" m5 replica wheels for $649+70 (shipping).

Is this a good deal and are these wheels as strong as my current factory fitted wheels? I have a non-sport 525.

Becareful of 'cheap' replica's - lots of people have reported balancing/vibration issues...

With style 124, do the tires have to be staggered?

Officially yes, 8J's at the front and 9J's at the rear. However, you could buy 4 front rims and put 245's all round...

With style 124 do you have to have run flats or will any performance tire like Michellin ps2 do.

Your choice... The 124 rim has the hump to take runflats or 'normal' tyres fit. Personally I recommend PS2's, the ride on 124's with runflats is terrible...
