I found a video. Not a good photo but you should be able to see it. Look at where I circled should sit in front of the ECU box. It has number on it. 10a, 15a, 20a etc. that black box has fuses in it. There is also relays in the ECU box.

Thanks! Just checked and sadly everyone is okay

I have to get ready for work now but tomorrow I think I will need to remove the rear fuse box and check if everything is okay in the back

It's a major break somewhere as no interior lights nothing

I planned on selling the car in a few months as I don't drive it much but it will be worthless sadly if I can't find the problem

You say, No dash lights, no headlights, clicking of the starter motor interior lights nothing.

If the car is not getting power look to the obvious:

- battery cables malfunctioning
- battery malfunctioning
- a mouse had dinner on one of your wires

Thanks scott for your reply

But there are no mice where I live in fact I've never seen a mouse or rat in japan except way into the country
But the good news is that ITS FIXED!!!!!

This morning I pulled the battery out and charged it again for about 5 hours

I checked it with my multi meter and it was fine

I put it in the car turned the key and everything was working
OMG it just the battery?

I turned it off, washed my hands and came back and the battery was dead flat so I knew I had a dead short somewhere

I pulled the battery out again and charged while I started to look everywhere for the problem

Then I remembered!!!
About two years ago my car got recalled because of a fault caused by a broken plastic cover of the power lead in the boot
BMW did the recall repair and it's been fine

But I pulled the boot apart and there it was!
The cover was cracked again and the bolt that holds the two sections together was just touching the boot in the car(lucky the car didn't catch alight)

I pulled it off and went to BMW who said they will get it towed to their workshop and repair it but I couldn't be bothered as they had already stuffed it up

So they gave me a new part. I fitted it and now the problem is fixed

(Pictures below after fitting the new part)

So yesterday I was able to get power threw the car to check the fuses etc but it wasn't enough to power the computers, lights etc because of the short

Thanks for everyone's help and support

I love my friends on this forum who are always willing to help and share their experiences

I will still sell it or give it away in a few months to anime in japan but for now she is working so I'm happy

How in the heck did they mess that up. The reason why I hate going to the stealership.

Lolololol
I think they did it too tight and it's cracked the plastic and then over time it got worse.

Yes I never go either but this one was a challenge as still enough power going threw the system to check the fuses but that's all

I'm glad it's fixed

Thanks for everything! You always help me. I'm very greatful
