My Ride: 06' 530xi
Default

Hi all!

I own a 06 530xi and recently it seems like my acceleration has not been the same as it was when I first got the car. When I hit the gas the mpg dial on the dashboard goes straight to the right(12 I think) and it just seems like I'm driving through mud.

Any suggestions?

The computer suggest I need to change the spark plugs in 3000 miles so could that be it? If so what are some good plugs to use?
Any other suggestions to increase the performance without spending an arm and a leg?

Thanks!

sprintbooster seems to be popular., also try the "25 second" ( search 25 second) routine.... it worked for me and I feel like my accelaration got a lot better after.. GL

You can't go wrong with OEM plugs or Bosch. Some other members will probably chime in.

Sprint booster? I thought that was just to have the car respond quicker when the skinny pedal is stepped on? Sluggish huh? Like driving through mud? I would change the plugs and check your air filter... if its clogged up you might be sucking nasty air or no air at all.

Some claim the 25 second reset thing works - i dunno. I did try it though - just cant tell... and there is a huge debate about the carbon filter on the boards and they say removal of that increases hp and tourque.

good luck.

you can try the charbroiler filter removal there is all sorts of back and forth about this little guy. Ity only take 1 minute to do anyway you might feel a difference.
