My new e60 has folding mirrors, dimming internal & external mirrors... I assumed the passenger mirror would dip when reverse was engaged... i've flipped the switch left/right, no response

Is the dipping mirror part of another extra ? or does it have to be programmed by the dealer?

Mine only works if the control switch is set to control driver's mirror.

That's what it says in the manual.

I'm sure that function comes as standard with the electric folding mirrors option.

I'd say if it's not working with the switch set to left and right, you've got a faulty unit!

Thanks for that Marcs, I'll be following this up with the dealer on Saturday morning.

In the UK this used to only come if you took the memory seats otherwise NO. Do you have that? Its not a feature that comes with the exterior mirror options which is what you seem to have taken.

This is the same here in Germany. Dipping mirrors only with memory seats.
I challenged my dealer on this because I have folding mirrors and he confirmed that its only with the memory seats. And before anyone asks, no - it can't be activated via the software - they are alledgidly different mirror units.

Oooppsss......Sorry!!

I have the memory seats but didn't connect the dipping mirror to this option. Thinking about it now though I suppose it does make sense because the memory function stores your mirror position as well as your seat position.

Sorry for my uninformed reply earlier
