My Ride: 550i 2009 Mod. with tints all around. Got Splitter and Spoiler coming. May do an exhaust.
What in the Tread Compound makes the tire bite to the Ice and snow?

Geesh, the one year I skipped buying blizaks this winter and we have these blizzard-like snow storm today, and my ole '05 530i couldn't even make it onto a unshoveled entrance to the highway. So I took local streets.
Then I get to my destination, and the parking lot wasn't shoveled and I got stuck again, whereby my ole BMW couldn't make it into the parking lot without blizzaks!!
I've come to the realization that I better keep the ole bimmer in the garage 'til the blizzard condition passes and they plow all the streets and driveways 'cause the ole bimmer without blizzaks just can't be safely driven in the snow!!

When viewed through a microscope, the outer Blizzak Multicell compound resembles the appearance of Swiss cheese because it contains millions of uniformly distributed microscopic pores that are constantly being exposed as the tread surface wears. In addition to providing thousands of miniature biting edges, these pores help wick away the thin layer of water that often develops on top of snow packed and icy roads, allowing the biting edges to better adhere to the surface for more traction.
