Well from the early facelift info it looks as though there are gonna be quite a few frustrated EU petrolheads. Make do with the 540i?

Well, it's not too surprising as that official looking document was the 1st clue.
I'm sure it will come to Europe later on this year. I just curious about why they don't have it ready for the facelift.

Well, at least we have the upgraded 535d for Europe with new transmission etc. That should satisfy a lot of people...

Aybeesea, the reason is that in EU they must sell diesel . Stop, no petrolheads .

So it looks right now.

The 540i is a laugh, as we all know.

Seems that we just have to wait a while, or get the E90-E93, or be happy with the facelift 530i 272 hp or

go for the fine diesels!

But most wanted it so badly, they didn't believe it!

No way!

Why would BMW leave us without the 535i? A engine like that is made for us EU citizens.

The 540i with it's old thirsty V8 is nothing for us smart and modern Europeans.

Bulls**t!

Rest assured, they won't be able to wait too long deliver a 535i for Europe; it would be very odd to have such a fabulous engine only available in the lowly 3 series.
I would say September at the latest, possibly before...

I would love to know their reason.... maybe it's just a supply issue holding up the launch. Sounds like it.

I guess a V8 still carries some 'kudos'? The 4.0l V8 looks a good engine but the residuals in the UK are appalling! I wonder if a 535i would perform any better on this regard?

That'll be the 'lowly' 3-series that accounts for most of BMW's sales? Actually the E90 isn't much cheaper than the equivalent E60... (330d = ?30k, 530d = ?33.5k)

Supply could be an issue especially as it's just about to be released in the 3-series coupe-convertible...

The supply issue is the massive demand there will be from BMW's most lucrative market, the US.
