The night vision exceeds my expectations. It is really great to spot moose several hundred meeters away in the dark. When it snows or rains the reach of the ir sensor is about 40 meters. The hills you see on the display is about 3 km away.

In fog or rain the IR sensor doesn't exceed the headlight reach by much. The benefit of NV is highest when there is no precipitation. Not sure I'd spend the money again for this option, though I do use it when conditions warrant. To be useful, it takes a 'knack' with your eye-glance -- using it like you use the rear-view mirror very quickly looking for a standout bright object is what I've found to work reasonably well.

Yes I use it that way too. In narrow dark streets with oncoming traffic i find it most useful. The pedestrians really light up in the display.

I drive in WV a lot and other places with a lot of deer. I really could use night vision for that and wish my car had it.

Since I mainly use it in suburban areas (not highway), I usually use full screen mode, not zoom. Where I live there are always people walking their dogs, etc. and it's great to be able to see them way ahead of the time I normally would...

One thing I've always wondered about the NV display is how does it look when another car passes you in the opposite direction and they've also got NV. Do you get to see their IR beams blinding you via your NV display? Also, do you see the IR beams of things like store entrace IR detectors ?
