Has anyone got it or used it and can tell us more about it. I know there have been other threads on this but nothing recently.

Do you drive and just use the screen or is it a combination of the two. I'm thinking if you were to mention TV screen, night driving and I hit a tree in the same sentence on your insurance claim form there may be a 100% shortfall on the payout.

Anyone know anything?

its supposed to be used as an extra aid, the night vision just shows a few extra things that you wouldn't be able to see e.g. potential hazards (people at the side of the road etc)

HOLY CRAP! I've never thought of that!

If someone reports that you can, I'm trading in my '05 545 for a new E60 with Night Vision!

I have it ordered. But was only available on MY07s. The word from BMW now is Night Vision will only be available starting with April production. My car starts production in mid April as I have a May 8th ED. Ill let you know how I like it in May as Ill try it out in Europe. Its on the Nav screen in black and white. It uses "far infrared " technology which is different and supposedly more effective that what was used on Cadillacs years ago.

Yeah, im almost certain you can.. 300 metres away, its really hard to see those undercover cops, with this infrared view, you can DEFINITELY should be able to see it. You can see why this feature would be so important in an M5/M6 hehe

Yeah.. Its not displayed on HUD.. i wish it was, that would be even better. But Nav is probably required because the night vision would make use of the Widescreen. The first picture proves that night vision would be somewhat helpful in identifying hidden undercover police vehicles on side of roads
