I am a newbie here (normally posting on Rennlist, since I drive a 2003 911 Cab). However, looking to add another daily driver, so I can rotate. Also, even though the kids (3 and 5) do fit in their boosters in the Porsche, it is a bit tight (I am 6.3). Hence, have been lurking around for a BMW 5 series.

Found a local trade-in at our MB dealership... 2007 530i. Was first registered in May 2006, 19K miles, premium package, cold weather package, and some other nits and nats. $54K sticker.

So this is the story. Drove the car last week and went by again this AM and they had already moved the car on the truck to ship it to (I believe) West Palm to auction it off. They got it off the truck and back to the dealership and I drove it again. Really like it, so it is now all about price. I have him down to $37,650, which is what he believes he can get for the car at auction. What do you think about that price?

Need to decide tonight/tomorrow AM, else it will be off to the auction. Appreciate your input!

No doubt the price is right, so long as the car is straight. I'm sure you can verify at KBB. Since time is an issue, IMHO, your best bet would be to run it over to the local BMW dealer for a lift inspection first thing in the morning. While there, in addition to the physical inspection, have them run the VIN to see that all service is in order and to determine what the car has had as far as BMW repair work, if any. Since it's under warranty, it most likely has been dealer serviced, so it will show in the car's record regardless of where it was originally sold. Get a Car Fax and Auto Check report--the seller usually will provide these free, as often times they generated them for themselves when they took the car in on trade and/or before they send it to auction. If all checks out and it's clean and accident free, I think you've got a keeper at that price. Good luck.
