You will need to press Stop button twice. The first one stops the engine. The second one puts the computer to sleep mode.
Interesting, if I press the Start/Stop button a second time, my car restarts. If you hold the Stop button for a full second rather than a quick press, it shut down everything...

And to the OP, congratulations on a great looking car!

Very nice, i like the colour, just a few tweeks now like tints etc
Jeesh, the guy said he's getting it tinted today - give him a break already

BTW I'd also recommend a different set of grilles - those chromed surrounds just don't complement neither the car, nor the color, really

This choice was solidified today when it was a few hours after I had washed it so I could roll the windows down and I could hear the exhaust.
Great choice on the 2008 550i - smart buy. It looks fantastic in that color and with those 172s.

Just wait until it's broken in ... it goes and sounds even better.

Just picked up a new 2008 550i from Fresno last night. Apparently the dealer was required to sell the car instead of leasing (and most people are leasing because Fresno's unemployment rate is among the highest in the nation), so needless to say it was never sold. Now that the 2010 5's are arriving in dealerships we got an amazing deal.

As for my question: the car has comfort access and after turning the engine off and getting out of the car, the radio stays on unless I lock it. When I park in my garage I don't lock the car and it's annoying to have the radio on for... however long in stays on for I'm not quite sure. Is there any way around this? I don't want to have to lock my car when I park in my garage because I don't want the alarm being set off when my family is doing things in the garage and it senses motion.

Thank you in advance for the help! It's an amazing car. I'm still in shock!
press the button for 2-5 seconds, like turning off a computer.

haha at this point, if I swing the big bucks on a 550 I'd have nothing left to swing

Here is my 2007 with rear deck spoiler.

Attachment 82238
Not to be rude, but that rear deck / spoiler looks bleh..
I would rather go with the M5 deck if I were to install a spoiler.

Grats on your purchase OP.
