newbie 520d owner, some help please

Hi people!
Excellent forum, been reading but never posted.
Right two questions. I have the aux input behind the centre console, facing the rear seats, can this be moved???
I found a key, well looks like a key with no buttons and no blade, pic below, what is this for? This was plugged inside the glovebox.

Hi so1o and welcome.
I have the aux in the same place, but I'm not sure it's wise to move it.
The "key" you found should be the the clove compartment, see pic.

You should also have a plastic key which can be used to open the door but will not cancel the alarm.
If you remove the fob from the glovebox and place the plastic key in the slot in the fob it will allow you to cancel the alarm and start the car.
Dealer should have explained to you.

First off, welcome on board and enjoy the forums!
I had the aux input on my previous E60s and simply ran the cable down the side of the seat and into the arm-rest compartment where I put the MP3 player. Not ideal, but you could hardly see the cable.

Thanks people.
i got the car privateley, was not explained to me on the various keys.
I stripped down the centre console, removed the annoying phone holder. Moved the aux input into the centre consoles middle box. A lot of work removing the phone holder etc, not really worth it as i found out, you gain minimal space. Ordered a plastic blank from BMW ?3.90 (rip off) to place it where i removed the aux input from.

Good stuff. That's certainly a much cleaner way of doing it

One always learns some more...
Dealer did not explain this to me, on the pre-LCI is wasn't needed,
but on the LCI, it should have been.

Hi people!
Excellent forum, been reading but never posted.
Right two questions. I have the aux input behind the centre console, facing the rear seats, can this be moved???
I found a key, well looks like a key with no buttons and no blade, pic below, what is this for? This was plugged inside the glovebox.
