I just installed a new set of wheels and tires and they don't have TPM sensors in them - as you might imagine my car is a little confused. Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the TPMS system in the car to ignore the wheels? I've tried resetting it, but for now it goes off every time i drive the car and there is constantly an alert light illuminated on my dash.

I can't imagine that I'm the first person to have this problem - very curious how to solve it...

thanks!

I don't think you have many options except to buy and install TPMS's (they're about $200) or put a PostIt sticky over the iDrive alert

Thanks, I'm not opposed to buying the TPM's if that's my only option - do I have to get them from BMW or can I get them from another after market vendor - any suggestions?

I believe modbargains.com sells them. Also check trinityautosports.com.

Yes, Nerwyll is faster than a speeding bullet. That's how Trinity rolls.

The bad news is they have to break down your wheels to install, then re-balance...

yeah that's a bummer -but to be honest, I'm getting a little shimmy at 48mph and may need to re-balance anyway :/

You now have answers! Good luck with the correction and say bye bye to the iDrive error messages!
