To answer all you guys who would like it dropped, I want to say that I want to drop it also but not until a mod from the BMW comes out for the xi. I bought this car not leased so I want to enjoy the ride as much as I can. If I went with 19's the diameter of the wheel would have been the same but the wheel would have looked a little larger. It would have been a harsher ride but a nicer look, I was looking for both venues so I went with the 18's.

I'm about seeing both sides, which is modding for looks but I also want comfort and sportiness. For now I'll keep it this way and wait for BMW produce some factory mod options.

Rick.

Looks good, Rick! But....even with all of the crap I went through with my H&R's, I'd still recommend you try them! With the 18's, your lowered ride will be a lot better than mine was on 19's. On 17's, my ride was fine.

There's just something about seeing a strut sticking out of the rear wheel-well on the xi's that just sits totally wrong with me. I'd personally sacrifice some ride quality to make it look right....and coming from ME, it should mean something. Remember, you can always put the old springs back on if you don't like the ride, so all you'd risk is the price of the install...and re-install and an alignment. You can sell the springs to get some of that back. I'd think about it...just make sure the stops are cut right!

We can bite the bullet together...have the springs installed and see what happens. If I am going to tell you drop yours, then how could I not do the same to mine!? We just might LOVE 'em!

Looks ok... It totally needs to be lowered. Once that happens I think it'll look GREAT! =)

Thanks guys, Rick...
Question: Does every 535xi with 245x40-18/275x35-18" OEMs have the same gap or is it just due to these wheels?

All the xi's have the gap because of the all wheel drive system. This is the trade off, you get all wheel drive but get stuck with the height and no sport suspension.

Looks good. Need to drop it a little. The area looks familiar, 231st Riverdale area? See you at the meet.
